Re‑Engage: Returning to the God Who Remembers You
When God begins the work of healing, He often invites us to re‑engage—to revisit thoughts, memories, past experiences, and even the perspectives and relationships that once harmed us. Not to reopen old wounds, but to ensure we don’t pack those same patterns and carry them into our next season.
He Was There All The Time
Can you recall a time when you drifted away from God? Maybe a major life change shifted your focus. It could have been a new job, marriage, or a change in your family dynamic. Or it may have been a traumatic situation — the loss of a loved one, a home, a job, a divorce, or a health scare.
Whatever the situation, it required one thing of you: a response.
Come Back to Me
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights 'til I'm found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn't earn it, and I don't deserve it, still, You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God.
This song “Reckless Love” by Cory Asbury came to mind as God whispered these words to me, “Come back to Me.”
Breathe
Some of us are bearing our crosses with grace. Some are in constant battles with weariness. Others are desperately holding on by a thread. The problem is, we’re doing it incognito — and if our story is concealed for too long, our identities eventually become buried along with it.
Let me explain.
Rest in Him
As a child my mother played a song by Douglas Miller called “My Soul Has Been Anchored in the Lord”. It has stuck with me to my adult years and one that comes to mind as I meditate on Psalm 62:1 - In God alone my soul finds rest; my salvation comes from Him.
