Re‑Engage: Returning to the God Who Remembers You
When God begins the work of healing, He often invites us to re‑engage—to revisit thoughts, memories, past experiences, and even the perspectives and relationships that once harmed us. Not to reopen old wounds, but to ensure we don’t pack those same patterns and carry them into our next season. He brings things back to our remembrance so we can finally see what needs to be released, restored, or redeemed.
Because when He says, “Come back to Me,” He is calling us back to who we were all along. He is reminding us that we were fully equipped in the garden—capable, complete, and whole. Not because we are self‑made or able to handle life on our own, but because we were created in Him and as His reflection. In and through Him, we have everything we need. We are fully equipped because we were formed in oneness with Him.
So He shows us who we are… who we have always been.
And then He walks us through the layers of re‑engagement—revisiting our past, examining the ways we’ve moved through life, and gently teaching us where to shift, where to surrender, and where to heal. He pours into the empty places. He tends to the broken spaces. He applies His healing balm, covers the wounds, and bandages them for restoration.
He stays with us through the process. He rests with us. He rises with us. He encourages us. He ensures we are healing properly.
He walks beside us on therapy walks. He ministers to us when intrusive thoughts try to creep in. The Holy Spirit moves swiftly—snatching those thoughts away if we allow Him to.
He is a good, good Father. And He simply wants the chance to prove it to you.
He says, “Come back to Me.” Not because someone else told you to. But because you know enough about Him to return. He will do the work to show and prove that He has you—front and back, beginning and end.
You are amazing because He made you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. And He wants you to know it deeply. The only way you will truly know it… is if you come back to Him.
So come back.
Pay attention to every experience. Be intimately involved in every moment of your day. Be deliberate about encountering God throughout the day. He is speaking. He is moving through His vessels. The Holy Spirit is fully employed to help you become who He formed you to be in Genesis.
See yourself in Genesis—standing beside Adam and Eve—created with intention, purpose, and divine capability. See yourself as a vessel designed to reveal His glory in every part of your being.
Be brave. Be courageous. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Walk through the tough seasons. He is with you. He is speaking in the ways best known by you. He knows exactly what to say, how to say it, and what experiences will teach you who He is. He knows how to get your attention and keep it.
That’s why it is easy to believe that He will never put more on you than you can bear. If He allowed it, it was necessary—even when it feels absolutely unnecessary in the moment.
For those who know Him deeply, who have experienced Him in greater dimensions, every season becomes a privilege. A reminder. A testimony. A lived truth that He truly will never leave you nor forsake you.
So hear Him again: “Please, come back to Me. I love you. Come back to Me.”
